Liked: the team was exceptional! Max at the front desk did the best of what he could to accommodate us according to our request- including contacting booking for half an hour.
Disliked: the rooms faced the hills which are beautiful but it also has train right down the building which was very noisy especially at night time.

I would recommend

Liked: I liked that the hotel was walking distance to Bay St stores and many restaurants. The breakfast was great and the breakfast/ morning staff were super friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: The staff was nice but check-in was chaotic. We arrived at the hotel approx. 1 hour after normal check-in time and our room was still not ready. We told the staff member that we would wait in the lobby (a few feet away) while our room was made available to us. He never checked on us again and 30-40 min. later we had to approach him again at the front desk and ask if our room was available yet. He checked with housekeeping and they said yes, it was available. It was probably available 15 min after we arrived but he never bothered to check again until we asked. That is the only downfall.

Liked: We really loved the hotel! Can not believe its only 3 stars especially compared to the other 3 and 2 star hotels in the area. Very clean, beautiful decor and staff was very helpful .The price we got the room for was a steal. Happy we stayed there.

wont stay again

Liked: Breakfast was good as long as you dont wait till an hour after it opens, otherwise your going to be waiting in line but they tell you that. The staff was excellent.
Disliked: Parking sucked and our rental car was broken in to at night, luckily we did not have anything in the car - BEWARE this type of vandalism is common in emeryville and oakland hotels, we will not stay in any hotels in these two cities anymore. the room was small and there was no fan in the bathroon if you know what I mean.
