Each room comes with a refrigerator, handy for post-gig snacks or morning-after leftovers. Breakfast is available on-site, perfect after a late night out.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s within a short stroll of downtown Victoria’s pubs, lounges, and small venues that often feature local acts. Want something low-key? The nearby waterfront and historic streets offer chill spots for a nightcap before bed.

Guests consistently praise the location—close to everything yet quiet. Reviewers love the charming decor, helpful staff, and the garden setting, which adds a unique, relaxed feel. Many mention the cleanliness of the rooms and the ease of walking to both attractions and venues.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the rooms are a bit dated in certain areas, and the parking can be limited during peak times. But overall, most agree the location and comfort far outweigh these minor quirks.

Great location but high price...

Liked: Really liked the location and the fact that they had a locked bike storage room
Disliked: The hotel is very dated. Had trouble with air conditioner. Very little in the way of room amenities. Curtains were broken and ratty. Breakfast was decent. Lots of options but none all that great. No real lobby to speak of. Not being picky, just expected more for the price which I consider to be pretty high.

Great location, poor hotel

Liked: This hotel is in a great location.
Disliked: The hotel is pet friendly, which some people may like but others not so much, pets are not allowed to dine with breakfast guests inside, but are allowed to walk through the dining area, which is totally unacceptable.Check in was poor, staff were unfriendly and not polite, there was limited information provided and little customer service. The room was sufficient in size, however was in desperate need of updating, we found bugs in the room, poorly maintained bathroom with a panel loose in the ceiling. The windows were poorly maintained and one as blown (cloudy with moisture inside). There was a panel gap in the room door, allowing light and noise to come through, not sure if this is suitable for fire regs tbh.Due to the age of the hotel noise was easily transferred from the room upstairs, resulting in poor sleep and disturbance. The hotel has a parking lot, after two days I found my car covered in dust, i'd only used the car for an hour after pick up from the airport. The breakfast wasn't too bad, but lacked choice and quality.I had contacted the hotel a number of times prior to the stay, including through their official site/email address. I explained i would be staying on my 50th birthday and requested a room on an upper floor, this was not accommodated or responded too. after check in my travel partner spoke to the staff and the hotel manager and was told that the hotel has so many emails and from so many email accounts they cant cope and dont have the capability to answer emails, this and their reaction to the queries were totally unacceptable and unprofessional from a customer service point of view.Well overpriced hotel, you are paying for location and the maintenance of the Pendray Inn.

Will stay there again

Liked: Location, comfort, awesome breakfast, friendliness of the breakfast staff and room staff
Disliked: Was not happy with the fellow at the checkin…seemed totally disinterested, compared to the super friendly Irish fellow who was also at the desk. The fellow reacted negatively when I asked him to slow down as he quickly recited the information on the check in form. That was very off putting for me. He then gave us our 2 rooms on different floors, I asked to be moved from the ground floor to another room and then what do you know we get a room right next to the first one he gave us. I did not get his name but he really didn’t match the demeanour of any of the other staff at your hotel.

Front desk staff was friendly,...

Liked: A complementary breakfast was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable. We received a free upgrade to a loft, which was greatly appreciated.
Disliked: The towels are very rough and scratchy almost hurt when you use them when you get out of the shower. The vending machine downstairs in the parking garage was out of order.
