Liked: Brilliant, helpful staff went above and beyond for us eventhough they has a party of 38 both nights we stayed.

Poor compared to Premier Inn

Liked: The bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: I usually stay in the Premier Inn which is close to this hotel, but wanted to try something different. However, it was poor in comparison on the following points;1. No free parking; had I known beforehand that you charge for parking I would not have booked. Charging guests for parking is wholly wrong!2. Hot water; the water in the room was not hot and barely warm. To have a bath I had to boil the kettle about a dozen times.3. Heating; the room was chilly and there was no way I could regulate the heating myself.4. Breakfast; very little choice of cereals and cooked items.The cost of staying with you was £1 per night cheaper than the Premier Inn, but when the car park charge is taken into account you were more expensive for a much poorer hotel experience.

Ideal for what we needed...

Liked: Excellent location with great view of the river from the room and the bar area. Friendly and helpful staff. My wife enjoyed the gym. Good value.
Disliked: Decor, especially in the room, looking a bit tired.Personally, I prefer a slightly more firm mattress and pillows, but to be fair to the hotel, that is a personal choice.
