Liked: The Manor was an example of fine living mixed with historical elegance. Beautiful wood stairs, railings, crown molding, flooring all examples of the architectural attention to detail used in our history to make the past come alive. The owner created these details as well with beautifully decorated rooms, a little gift from the local winery, and fine china in the beautiful table settings. She was welcoming and gracious. Her cooking and baking excellent. Watkins Glen had plenty to keep us busy for five days - lots of shopping, wineries, distilleries, rail rides, and water falls. We even took in a race. I could have spent some days on the grounds' gazebo or sitting on the beautiful porch. The weather started off a little hot for the porch, but there are ceiling fans, so maybe I should have tried it. I have stayed at other B&B's and Jen's Hudson Manor is the way it should be done. Thank you for a great time!
Disliked: Part of the reason I didn't sit on the porch was the noise from the occasional tractor trailers that went by. I never noticed them in the house, and the house sits way back from the road. This is a minor detail which is part of the Glen's history. The trucks are needed there.

Excellent location, delicious breakfast, and...
Liked: What a joy it was to stay at Hudson Manor. Located just north of downtown, it is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, as well as the main entrance to Watkins Glen Park and the famous Gorge Trail. Our hostess, Jenn, and her husband, Adam, have done a spectacular job renovating and updating the historic building. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a private bathroom, deck and view of the lake. The bed was large and comfortable and there was plenty of storage. Breakfast is communal, promptly at 8:30 am in the dining room, and Jenn did a fantastic job of fueling us for days of hiking and sightseeing. The food was delicious! There is also a small kitchen for guests to use to have coffee and tea throughout the day and a microwave to heat or reheat your own food. Jenn and Adam's daughter, Hannah, even stocks a small refrigerator where you can purchase water, soda, and snacks, which was greatly appreciated. Although the building is located right above the main road, the windows do a great job of filtering out the noise. Jenn is also a good source of information on various attractions and places to eat. Worth every penny! Would definitely stay there again.
