Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Jocelyn, New Liskeard Tue, 6 November 2012

Liked: Close to the CNE Grounds; lots of restaurants around that you can walk to; convenient and close to shopping.
Disliked: Not much choice at breakfast and nothing hot; parking was a little far away but not bad. They didn't leave enough coffee in the room for two people. The pictures on the internet looked really fancy.

Good Morning: We spent one night at this hotel on Mon. Nov. 7 ... I am unfamiliar with the hotels in Toronto and I was simply looking for something close to the CNE grounds. This hotel was close (approx. 2 km plus) but in a very, very run down district of the city. The main problem was the noise in the room ... it felt like the street-cars were right in the room as the window was not at all sound proof and we were surrounded by this sound til the wee hours of the morning and then again in the early hours of the morning ... we didn't get any sleep at all I think. We didn't complain as we realized that you do get what you pay for, but we will certainly not return. Another negative was that the parking was two blocks away and just up the street was a lot where we could have parked for half the price and half the distance ... outside in a lot, but that would have been ok. We didn't try the breakfast as we decided to go up the street to a well known establishment which turned out to be a fantastic choice with a wonderful home cooked meal to start our day. Found the description of the hotel on the web misleading and was surprised that Howard Johnsons would put their name on such an establishment. Thank you for this opportunity, Jacquie Brown

Liked: Bed and shower
Disliked: Noise - Streetcar Station Behind, Parking, no Elevator

The price of the price

Liked: It is not far from downtown, and bed is comfortable.
Disliked: It is an old building, so dirty, old carpets with many dust in the edges and steps, it has a musty smell. Room size is ridiculous small, they should be add the sq meter of it.

Liked: Was clean and comfortable
Disliked: There is no parking in the hotel

Poor - 1.9 out of 5

Anonymous Fri, 6 July 2018

Disliked: small rooms (they are like the size of a closet), small beds, and small pillows (very uncomfortable), no refrigerator in the room. I called guest service before booking and was told it was only a 20 min walk to Budweiser stage, when I got there I found it it was a 45 min walk and had to spend extra $ on taxi fares ( they lied)
