Howard Johnson Hotel by Wyndham Toms River

I would only recommend this hotel based on the fair price when comparing to other hotels in the area. I was very unhappy with the room as it was not even close to the pictures posted online. Very disappointing. I would give it a 2 star rating and will definitely book a room in another hotel my next trip to Tom's River area.

Liked: Proximity to Pine Belt Arena.
Disliked: Rooms were not as depicted online. We booked hotel based on pictures, mostly for my daughter, and the room was NOTHING like the pictures shown. Very disappointing. There was also a strange smell in the hallways - maybe fumigation smell, which was very unpleasant.

Disliked: Didn’t like how it didn’t say online required a deposit upon check-in I was asked for a deposit should have it listed on booking that a deposit is required

Liked: Nothing. Advertised free breakfast but upon check in we were informed no breakfast is being served.
Disliked: I didn’t like being woken up at 3:00 am bi a irate man screaming in the hallway outside my door for what seemed like a very long time and being in fear for my safety

Liked: The room's Mid-century modern design was very nice.
Disliked: The sliding door to the balcony was almost impossible to open, the coffee maker was broken, the safe, which we wanted to use, was permanently locked shut. The property shows major signs of wear. The pool was fine, but the area around the pool felt dirty and uncared for. There was also a lack of towels for the pool use.
