Howard Johnson Hotel by Wyndham Toms River

I would only recommend this hotel based on the fair price when comparing to other hotels in the area. I was very unhappy with the room as it was not even close to the pictures posted online. Very disappointing. I would give it a 2 star rating and will definitely book a room in another hotel my next trip to Tom's River area.

Liked: Proximity to Pine Belt Arena.
Disliked: Rooms were not as depicted online. We booked hotel based on pictures, mostly for my daughter, and the room was NOTHING like the pictures shown. Very disappointing. There was also a strange smell in the hallways - maybe fumigation smell, which was very unpleasant.

Liked: The room's Mid-century modern design was very nice.
Disliked: The sliding door to the balcony was almost impossible to open, the coffee maker was broken, the safe, which we wanted to use, was permanently locked shut. The property shows major signs of wear. The pool was fine, but the area around the pool felt dirty and uncared for. There was also a lack of towels for the pool use.

Disliked: Room smells like old smoke or something else. The bed was horrible would have been better to sleep on floor

No bugs were found and...

Liked: The water was so hot… It kinda made up for everything else.
Disliked: Property smelt like smoke, beds were hard, other guests looked sketchy, hair on towels and sheets.

Excellent place to stay just...

Liked: That it was a quick trip to the beach it wasn’t too expensive and it was clean
Disliked: The pillows could use some work and the carpet when you first walked in was old and out dated and smelled like a wet dog upon walking in

A Great experience at Howard...

Liked: The Management , Staff and Housekeeping Personnel were exceptionally Professional and Accommodating .
Disliked: A small complimentary breakfast , which was discontinued earlier in the year , would have made this a superbly memorable stay . Perhaps something for Management to reconsider . With this , I had a wonderful stay . Thank you .

the Bed Bug killed the...

Liked: The location was good
Disliked: The BED BUGS, the broken refrigerator, the broken toilet seat, and the door lock would not lock ....
