Howard Johnson Hotel by Wyndham Toms River

I would only recommend this hotel based on the fair price when comparing to other hotels in the area. I was very unhappy with the room as it was not even close to the pictures posted online. Very disappointing. I would give it a 2 star rating and will definitely book a room in another hotel my next trip to Tom's River area.

Liked: Proximity to Pine Belt Arena.
Disliked: Rooms were not as depicted online. We booked hotel based on pictures, mostly for my daughter, and the room was NOTHING like the pictures shown. Very disappointing. There was also a strange smell in the hallways - maybe fumigation smell, which was very unpleasant.

Disliked: First they put us in a room that wasn't cleaned. Then they put us in a room that the TV didn't work. The toilet seat was broken and was the shower head. Won't stay there again

Liked: They had a room when I arrived. The staff was reasonably pleasant.
Disliked: Never stayed in such a noisy hotel in my life. I don't believe there is anything between the rooms other than the paint. And for a non smoking hotel, I have never smelled so much cigarette smoke. I suppose that is the result of having an apparently large number of homeless vagrants occupying the location. At 60+ years of age the building needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Or simply demolished. Floors were filthy. Every morning when I got in the shower, my feet left black marks on the shower base.

Disliked: It smelled HORRIBLE, weird people were walking around the hotel, it was dirty, doors didn’t lock (we had to change rooms), and there was no blankets. i would not recommend this hotel at all.
