Howard Johnson by Wyndham Virginia Beach At The Beach

Location was perfect for the Patriotic Festival. Able to hear the concert from the top of the hotel was nice since this year, the weather was not perfect.

Liked: Staff was nice and helpful; rooms were clean.
Disliked: None.

This hotel was horrible. I would not recommend.

As an African American I felt really bad and disappointed when I arrived one hour early and was told by Rosemary that I had to wait for my room key. But about five white families came behind me and received their keys immediately. So I asked why I couldn't get my room key like the white families. Only then did I receive my room key with no explanation why I had to wait and the others didn't. My room had already been cleaned. It's a shame a black family who paid the same money for a room was made to feel so bad about staying there. The pain, anguish, and disappointment leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and on my heart. I will never stay there again because of the prejudice and ignorance of the staff!

Disliked: The TV didn't work or have batteries in it the phone wasn't connected at all and the shower had a leak in it

Disliked: This was the worst stay! Pictures are completely different than what it looks like in person. Dirty bed bug hotel…nothing clean, mold in shower, loud fights outside, questionable activities, not on the beach, Just don’t stay here, don’t be bamboozled by the photos. We were scammed! The pool is in a parking lot, not on the roof top deck like it’s pictured.

Disliked: I booked a DOUBLE room with 2 double beds. The room was a SINGLE room with 2 beds. Shouldn't I get some type of partial refund? You can check the reservation if you want.
