Howard Johnson by Wyndham Virginia Beach At The Beach

Location was perfect for the Patriotic Festival. Able to hear the concert from the top of the hotel was nice since this year, the weather was not perfect.

Liked: Staff was nice and helpful; rooms were clean.
Disliked: None.

This hotel was horrible. I would not recommend.

As an African American I felt really bad and disappointed when I arrived one hour early and was told by Rosemary that I had to wait for my room key. But about five white families came behind me and received their keys immediately. So I asked why I couldn't get my room key like the white families. Only then did I receive my room key with no explanation why I had to wait and the others didn't. My room had already been cleaned. It's a shame a black family who paid the same money for a room was made to feel so bad about staying there. The pain, anguish, and disappointment leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and on my heart. I will never stay there again because of the prejudice and ignorance of the staff!

Disliked: Elevator didn’t work on the first floor so we have to go up one flight every time we arrived, there were no patio furniture on the rooftop like pictured, the ac leaked water leaving a giant puddle, the shower didn’t drain well

Worst part of the vacay!

Liked: It was close to the beach. The hotel room was so terrible that we stayed away all day.
Disliked: The towels, linen, bathroom were all dirty. The elevator didn't work well. First floor button was broken and no air conditioner in the elevator. The breakfast was very disappointing.

Liked: Location is great, right off the beach and within walking distance of several great restaurants.
Disliked: Floors were unclean, staff was unfriendly. Our room was missing the TV remote and despite going to the office to ask for a replacement and being told we would receive one, we never did. No real breakfast option.
