Howard Johnson by Wyndham Virginia Beach At The Beach

Location was perfect for the Patriotic Festival. Able to hear the concert from the top of the hotel was nice since this year, the weather was not perfect.

Liked: Staff was nice and helpful; rooms were clean.
Disliked: None.

This hotel was horrible. I would not recommend.

As an African American I felt really bad and disappointed when I arrived one hour early and was told by Rosemary that I had to wait for my room key. But about five white families came behind me and received their keys immediately. So I asked why I couldn't get my room key like the white families. Only then did I receive my room key with no explanation why I had to wait and the others didn't. My room had already been cleaned. It's a shame a black family who paid the same money for a room was made to feel so bad about staying there. The pain, anguish, and disappointment leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and on my heart. I will never stay there again because of the prejudice and ignorance of the staff!

The location was great but...

Liked: The location was great.
Disliked: The hotel was dirty, poorly maintained, and management was indifferent. The bedding was stained, items were left in the room from a previous guest, lamp didn’t work, elevator didn’t work on the first floor, dirty floors in room, and walls were dirty. Cigarette butts are all over the property and outside of room doors and on walkways. Burn holes in bedding. The staff engaged in a verbal altercation, yelling and cursing in front of guests. Management didn’t intervene. Breakfast was honey buns, cereal bars, and yogurt that sat out for hours without being refrigerated.

Disliked: The rooms were not clean and never got any cleaning service during our 3 days stay. The towels, beets has stains. The floor was dirty.This is not a recommended place if you are traveling with small children. When asked for extra blanket or pillow, the staff straight away refused it. He told us that light breakfast will be served between 6-9 and when we reached there by 6:30 am the door was locked and no one was there. The overall management was bad.

Disliked: The hotel room was filthy the sheets were dirty sand all over the floor no toilet paper toilet was not working tv did not work never brought bath towels and soap totally disgusting

Liked: I liked that the pool looked clean. It was the cleanest part about the whole place…
Disliked: The room was filthy, there was a streak down the pillow of god knows what, no towels or rags?? The phone also did not work properly and wouldn’t dial anyone. Everything was unplugged. Hair in the shower, I really could go on.

Very durty place ,not save...
