Disliked: I paid on arrival for 3 nights but had to leave after 2 nights with approval of booking.com and Hotel. The desk clerk said the refund will be done between 7-10 days but no refund was ever processed. When I followed up, the hotel claimed I left on the third day which was not true. I said that the clerk reassured me that the refund would follow so we left in good faith after the second night as agreed with booking.com and the hotel manager. Still waiting for our refund.

Liked: The staff were cool and the pool was fun.
Disliked: Why did I pay $10 for parking, dumbass thing. My parking should be included in the stay! False advertising when paying head of time! The staff couldn’t even explain why. Breakfast was dis organized and long wait!

Disliked: The ventilation wasn’t all that great, it didn’t work at all. Also there is a weird smell in the beds and the tv didn’t work either. The bathroom seat wasn’t stable too. The smell of the cafeteria also reached us in the rooms which added to the weird smell.

Will never stay at this...
Liked: The people at the front desk were personable. The person who ensured the missing items during the very limited items for a continental breakfast were always replenished. He made our waffles and brought it to us as the line for the waffles was long. Parking was included in our rate. The room where the bed is located was spacious. The shower stall was very clean. Water pressure very good. Ask for check out at noon instead of 11am and was granted with no problem.
Disliked: The room smelled of cigarette smoke. The room was very dated, very small shower stall, toilet seat move around, the faucet top was broken, the washroom was very small, did not include a small fridge (you could get one for a small charge), nor a microwave. We had a red heart shape jacuzzi tub, that was not functional. The mattress was very old, sunken in the middle and very uncomfortable. The pillows were awful. Granted its a busy month (August)in Niagara Falls, its the most I have paid ($249.00/1 night) for a hotel stay and was the worse accommodation by far! This is was a classic case of price gouging. This hotel is is less than a 1*. The compound is old and dirty with lots of cracks, definitely dilapidated. Photos not a good representation of the room. Have stayed at other Howard Johnson Properties in the past, this was the worst!

Disliked: The cleanliness could be improved, especially it the toilet.
