Great little getaway

Liked: Perfect location for getting out and about around Galloway for walking, sight-seeing and the mtb trails.Accommodating and friendly staff and fantastic food. Breakfast provided the night before, for the room was ideal so I could suit myself in the morning before heading out. I hadn't made evening plans and it was slightly further from the town than anticipated but it didn't matter because the food and drink in-house were lovely. Perfect for getting cosy after a day on the trails.

Liked: Location was very good on the edge of the Galloway Forest, very peaceful. Just how we like it!

Enjoyable

Liked: Exceptional continental.Used some for lunch on my walk.Being continental and in my room meant I could leave early in morning for my long walk to St John’s Town of Dalry.Will be back next year for walking full Southern Upland Way walk

Enjoyable stay, good food and...

Liked: Very friendly staff, excellent selection for continental breakfast and great quality food in the restaurant with lovely flavours and fresh ingredients.Would recommend and would definitely visit again.
Disliked: Shower height adjuster broken, no portable mirror or plug socket near a mirror so I had to dry my hair in my phone camera which was a pain. The room was a bit tired and could do with an update that would be relatively inexpensive.
