Hotel Zlatá Váha

Disappointing

Liked: Due to a delay in our bus service, we arrived at the hotel late. As a result, we had to check in using the machine at the reception, which naturally caused considerable inconvenience. It is certainly unpleasant not to find anyone at the front desk to assist. I could list several other shortcomings as well.Our room faced the gap between buildings, making it dark and poorly ventilated. The corridors smelled terribly bad. To reach our room, we had to scan our card through multiple doors, yet we were provided with only one key card, which was impractical.The breakfast was very poor, and at the entrance, there was a sign stating, “If you take food outside, you will be fined,” which I found quite rude. There was no kettle in the room, and when I asked for one, I was told they were only available in premium rooms — they refused to provide one.In terms of amenities, the room resembled a hostel more than a hotel. There was no bottled water, no shampoo, and the TV was tiny. Most of the staff were unfriendly.I seriously doubt I would ever consider staying here again. The only redeeming quality of the hotel, in my opinion, was its location — within walking distance of several key sights.

Better Options Out There

Liked: The location was good, especially if travelling by train or bus and the breakfast was great.
Disliked: Pretty rude staff (although the cleaning staff seemed nice). After travelling 24 hours and tired, the receptionist was very curt because I didn’t sign the paperwork properly and was actually going to deny me my pre-paid room because I didn’t have the 2 Euro city tax (actually I did but they wouldn’t make change). Finally accepted my credit card. Hotel is well worn although room was clean enough. I relocated after one night.
