Solo Female Traveller - 4...

Liked: The bed was very comfortable, the room was relatively easy to find, and there were some nice features. I loved that I had a mini-fridge. There was some storage space for clothing, a hanger, and two very gorgeous mirrors - with the one in the bathroom being able to light up which makes things like makeup so much easier, and the one in the room being a full body mirror so outfit checks were easy too. They provided a hairdryer as well, and a small safe. I was also given a complementary bottle of water and a glass when I got there, and there was a kettle with many tea and coffe options provided too - all in my room. There was a door that opened up onto a terrace style balcony for outside use as well (I was on the ground floor) and a nice big frosted window in the bathroom that could be opened too. The shower was adjustable and easy to navigate, and the towels were lovely (one big body towel and one average body towel). The staff were friendly, and I didn't feel unsafe. Nobody bothered me, and cleanings of the room were done while I was out. The staff also all spoke English clearly and were friendly, so it was easy to communicate with them. As a solo female traveller I was not very fond of being out alone at night because of safety concerns, but the area around the hotel feels quite safe. There is also a gas station and e-scooter drop-off point right by the hotel.
Disliked: There was a box behind the tv that had bright green lights in it, which made the room basically glow in the dark and made it harder to sleep. They didn't provide shampoo or conditioner, only a scent-free mystery shower gel which doubled as hand soap. They also didn't provide toothpaste, which I'm normally used to getting (like one of those mini travel toothpaste tubes). There was no air conditioning in the room, so I had to manage the temperature with the windows instead.

Room was like a glorified...

Liked: they were amenable to a late check in, someone on reception was in touch with me via messaging in the day, the room was quiet.
Disliked: Not a good experience at this hotel, they left me a card key but not detailed instructions on how to find my room in the building which is like a big maze (even though there are signs, the numbers/letters on floors are similar, indicating it was at the end of a long, side hallway would have helped), there was no one on the desk to ask for help. When I reached out to them via booking.com msging for help, no one responded. I couldn't call them bc my phone is from another country/ they are not on WhatsApp. Their listing says someone is on reception from 4am -12am, no one there when I left for my morning train. No one took my ID passport details for the booking either = safety issue? The communication was not clear or in depth enough in the listing or their responses, their listing says they only accept cash, turns out they charged my card for the room (I guess due to the late check in? They never said anything to me, just 'don't worry about the payment'). So my whole time there I thought I would have to pay in cash, or be charged 150 euros as per their conditions. This caused alot of extra stress, especially when there was no one around! This hotel was filthy and not up to code - my room had cracked walls, electrical wires coming out the wall in different places, stains on curtains, wall, blood stains on the floor? The room was like a glorified broom closet for hotel storage, some sort of empty mini-fridge stuffed behind the bed frame, outlets coming out the socket in the bathroom near water (dangerous...!?) Not even a teaspoon for a cup of tea, could not use kettle in its proper spot because of blood stains on the floor nearby. Didn't feel comfortable or safe, I spent 4 hrs here and left. Did not take photos of everything I saw but included a few, wanted to get out of there. Wouldn't recommend to female solo travellers. Heard back from them eventually the next afternoon but no apology after they clearly read my review.
