Hotel Victoria

Great fun.

Liked: The room was clean but very warm due to an extreme (but enjoyable) heatwave. The staff were absolutely fabulous. Friendly, attentive and helpful.
Disliked: Well it's not that I didn't like it, I didn't try it! The breakfast. I do think that it should have been included, but hey.Couldn't open the windows for a bit of fresh air. It was extremely warm in the room but I have a feeling that it's a blessing during winter.

Liked: Full English Breakfast was very good- so filling, so much so that as the week went on I had to ask the kitchen to cut it down ! ! .Well cooked & tasty. Nice sea & seafront view from dining room. Room was very nice, spacious for a single, plenty of storage space, large on suite bathroom. reasonably comfortable bed. Very good overall. Pleasant Bar - even if the drinks were somewhat more expensive than I would have liked.
Disliked: Although there was no heating on(as you would expect at this time of year)the bedroom was somewhat hot. Slept on top of bed every night ! !Only two small criticisms - the Reception Desk was not always manned as I feel it should have been. Secondly Saturday morning Breakfast start at 8:00 am, rather than 7:30, I think is a mistake. Being the weekend there was more guests than the earlier part of the week & I did not feel the staff coped as well. Because of my plans for the day I had to miss out on my toast & marmalade & my second pot of coffee ! !. Needed to progress my day. Otherwise all staff excellent & nothing was too much trouble. Service with a smile

Liked: We like the Victoria Hotel because we are sure of friendly staff and pleasant service.
Disliked: Would have liked another pillow and also no biscuits issued on 2nd day

Liked: Walking along the beachfront behind the hotel.
Disliked: Bathroom was extremely small. Very old hotel- dates back to 1850s.
