Superbly designed hotel at the...

Liked: We loved the design with the artworks dotted around, and the way that you could still see you were in a couple of converted factories even though it was a proper hotel.The room was huge and the beds were comfy. We liked that the hotel was paying for Netflix, Amazon, etc and we didn't need our own log ins. Tea and coffee in the room was a nice touch.Staff were friendly without being in your face. We paid extra for a breakfast that was OK. Good quality food - but you had to fight for it!
Disliked: Would have liked a door of some sort on the bathroom. We've been married for many years, but I still don't wish to see my wife on the toilet in the morning!!! Is this trendy now (2nd on this trip) - if it is it needs to stop.There was a very faint whiff of stale tobacco - well it did used to be a cigar factory.

Liked: Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and in a great location overlooking the river. Close to lots of bars and the centre of Mechelen. Fantastic wellness centre which you can have all to yourself and is very good value for money. Nice bar with great draft beers and the largest Paix Dieu glasses I've ever seen! Modern and chic hotel.
Disliked: The room was a little scruffy as the walls needed a touch up here and there. Biggest disappointment was the gym. No dumbells over 5kg which is useless for a man but OK if you just want to use for cardio. Need some 10kg plus weights. Otherwise would be 10/10.
