Great staff

Liked: The staff were really nice and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. We changed rooms and our new room was very nice.
Disliked: First room was in the basement and not great. (Although the hotel had suggested an upgrade as soon as we booked, but should they need to?) The sink drain leaked badly. Not keen on all the black decor. The bar was okay but they reorganised while we were there and removed the Amoretto so my sister had to settle for gin and lemonade. There was no tonic!

Stay was ok but mainly...

Liked: Lovely staff
Disliked: Room was up steep stairs, no help with luggage, no lift, and really basic for the price.

V for Very good accommodation...

Liked: Or room was very spacious in the loft. Excellent location with good tram links or walkable into the city centre if you are happy to walk for approx 30 mins. We did both. Also we used the hotel rental bikes and Bolt taxi. Breakfast was excellent! Help yourself buffet and included in the price! All the staff were very friendly and helpful, including the reception staff, breakfast staff and the nighttime staff. The hotel had quite a relaxed vibe, good security and streets were quiet and safe at night.
Disliked: We felt the price of the room was very high, even though breakfast was included, although we realise this price seemed to be comparable to other hotels in Amsterdam. The accommodation although clean and comfortable was not high end and yet, unfortunately, was over 300 euros a night. Also, through several messages prior to our stay I had tried to arrange for a bottle of sparkling wine to be in the room for my husband’s birthday as a surprise. However, when we arrived this had not been arranged. I decided not to mention this as it no longer would have been a surprise. There seemed to be some confusion with booking.com messaging and the hotels own messaging service. Also when booking through booking.com we had to pay the full stay in advance (3 months) which was a bit of a shock!
