Liked: We use the Universal every time we go to Granada it's a great place to stay and the location is great.

Bad

Liked: Location was decent.
Disliked: Temperature was unbearable, A/C was very poor, no individual control of it, we were sweltering hot. Breakfast was terrible, not worth the charge. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at in 10 days in Spain this one was a huge disappointment. Not recommended.

Very dirty room

Liked: The location is in the very center of the city. The sheets were clean. The receptionists were friendly.
Disliked: The room hadn't been cleaned for months. Dust and hair everywhere, the toilet was dirty, even the room smelled of sewage and urine, we couldn't open the window because the view was of a closed dirty courtyard and sewage. We left after one day instead of the two we booked and still had to pay for 2 days because they told us it was booking.com policy and told us to complain to them. We would have left immediately, but it was after 10 pm, and we were with a child, so we still slept there that night after we disinfected the bathroom. I believe that this room is not normally rented out, we booked it a few days before. The apartment we moved to the next day costed us only 4 euros more, and it was perfect, I gave it 10. Booking.com has not yet resolved our complaint or refunded the money for the day we didn't stay there (it's been 3 weeks since we checked in).

Receptionist are the best. Granada...

Liked: Close to everywhere. Restaurants, Bus stations, markets.
Disliked: No ventilation in the Toilet. There’s a mold smell.

Excellent value -- you get...

Liked: Price was excellent value. Great location, right in the middle of major shopping street. Plenty of restaurants and eating options. 7 euro taxi to Alhambra. Tiny rooms but quiet and clean. Great A/C ! Didn't take the breakfast option but it was available. Parking was convenient (19 euro per day). Staff was soooo polite and efficient. Made you feel like you were doing them a favor!
Disliked: Walls are paper thin. We had rooms on different floors --- one of us found it extremely quiet and peaceful, and the other had some trouble with noise from other rooms. Might consider earplugs next time. Very basic, no amenities. I will stay here next time I visit Granada, but I'll bring a water heater and instant coffee.
