Hotel Ultonia

A great hotel, very close...

Liked: Very close to the centre of Girona, which is a lovely city. The hotel was going through renovations while we were there so the main reception area was closed and you had to get into the hotel through a side door, but that was not a problem and the staff are brilliant. The hotel is dog friendly and they charge 10€/night for them. They have a very secure underground car park but it is very tight so if you have a large car there are some sharp turns to manoeuvre around and the spaces aren’t huge (19€/night for parking). We have stayed here 6 times now and the dog friendly rooms are always clean and the air conditioning is effective. The roof top bar is a gem when it’s warm, with a terrace and comfortable furniture. There is a large wooded park within 5 minutes walk for exercising dogs, an unusual feature for a city centre hotel. In June 2025, a double room with parking, dogs and City Tax was £148.
Disliked: There is not much to dislike about this city centre hotel. The facilities are good, the rooms are clean and comfortable (we’ve only had dog friendly rooms) and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, excellent location, fabulous...

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a good, safe area - less than 10 mins walk from the train station. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to the old town of Girona. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice, amazing fruit juices, lots of local food to try, highly recommended! Great roof terrace bar as well with good views of Girona.
Disliked: There was nothing that we didn't like.

Shame about the lack of...

Liked: Great location, very nice bike storage facility, good breakfast, lovely roof bar.
Disliked: For a hotel that’s catering specifically for cyclists, it’s a real let down to not have a separate changing facility WITH SHOWER where one can refresh after a day of cycling on the last day of the stay (I.e. after one has already checked out of one’s room). One of the toilets on floor E could probably reasonably easily be converted into a shower and the problem would be solved, but with the current set up I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND the hotel to cyclist friends (despite everything else being really great otherwise).

Liked: Great location, rooftop bar with good wine and cocktails the jamon was fab. They were also very helpful with the items I left behind.
Disliked: The construction at the lobby was a little bothersome.
