Hotel Tychy

First and last time to...

Liked: Breakfast, food, staff, parking... all great.
Disliked: Hotel is undergoing restoration. A/C not working and temps in upper 80's. Able to cool room some by opening the window during a thunderstorm to get some breeze. Thin matresses and pillows... TOTAL bed height from floor about 12 inches. You could sit straight up and rest your elbows on your knees. Lavatory had spray head that shot water out horizontally wetting everything including what we were wearing. Shower gel dispenser would not work. Slick shower floor... no mats. AND... the elevator stopped working and our room was on the 4th floor. Not very comfortable when you're 80 years old.

Very kind and attentive staff

Liked: We only stayed for one night but one point stood out which deserves mention. We were at the breakfast table and our 12yo said to us there was no yoghurt with the flavour she liked available any more. The catering staff overheard this and came over with some other yoghurt sorts (one of which was the right one). They did not have to do this but it showed us how attentive and kind the staff were and we very much appreciate it.As an aside, we chose Tychy for a 1-night stay because we were traveling from Germany to the Energylandia adventure park in souther Poland, and Tychy is a good option to stay because it is easier to get out of in the morning than Katowice and still close enough to Energylandia.
