Poor - 1 out of 5

Caitlin, Phoenix, visiting Rialto Theatre Tucson Mon, 13 July 2015

The room smelled like mildew. The A/C unit soaked the carpet - we couldn't walk on it. The bedding also had stains. The location of the hotel was convenient to the venue.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Mildew; Carpet; Bedding.

Sally, San Diego, visiting Old Tucson Studios Sun, 17 May 2015

Refund requested. Room unacceptable. It reeked of smoke, and it's a smoke free room. Broken furniture, dirty looking! No mention of taking an extra $50.00 for hold, especially after room was already paid for! Nowhere is it stated that $50.00 would be deducted immediately after check in! It only states to show picture ID and credit card for identification. This has caused me an overdraft to my account! I will never recommend this hotel or this website to anyone - I expect my money back!

Disliked: Did not stay!

This hotel sounded so good on the Internet but was less than satisfactory. We had two small kids with us and felt bad about letting them walk on the carpets or take a bath in the tub. I would never go back there again.

Liked: Breakfast was good. Pool was nice.
Disliked: Non-smoking room was ultra smoky. Room was dirty. No wi-fi; A/C was awful.

Remove them from your list.

Liked: The location was great and the breakfast was good, and the room was clean. But that is as far as I can take it. When I checked in, I was informed that, in addition to the room rate, I was being charged a security deposit against "room damage". On checking out they refused to give me a receipt saying the receipt was coming form; nor would they give me a receipt showing the security deposit had been reversed. I was told it would show up on my credit card, but the desk person could not tell me when it would show up.
Disliked: See above!!

Liked: Nice shower. Comfy beds. Awesome pool.
Disliked: The ice machines were down the entire time. We also felt hounded by security at the pool and could not fully enjoy ourselves. The elevators were not working properly. Fixtures were broken.

Very poor

Liked: Leaving
Disliked: Upon arrival they inform us of a Limited 1 car per room parked, and suggest we park our other car in a parking garage (at our expense) a mile away. We do that and go back to the hotel, hotel employee Accused me of being a liar that we had only one car on property, stood in front of the car so i was unable to drive forward and brought the manager out to check my ID, ridiculous if you ask me. As for the room, air conditioning wasnt working properly, Bird poop all over the balcony. The ice machine on every floor was broken. Finally, we go to the pool we call the front desk to make sure its okay for us to bring our pool bag in considering were on the 4th floor, they say yes. We get to the pool and they say we cannot go in with the bag. That was our last straw, we asked for a refund and left the hotel to stay at the super 8 which was 5x more accommodating then Hotel City Tucson. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Do not waste your money!

It was great place to...

Liked: Everyone was really nice , clean room and very cool air conditioned , the beds were very comfortable , the restaurant inside food was good
Disliked: The pool looked like it was not being kept with the cleaning , ice machine spits out 10 ice cubes at a time very long time to fill bucket , the hall way was so warm maybe keep it at 68 would be fine but was more like 78 to 80

Liked: Girl at the front desk was really sweet! That?s all!
Disliked: The locks were broken in the door. The fridge was leaking water all over. No blankets or pillows for the extra pull out couch. Run down! Felt like I was staying in a low income housing development! Not good!
