Hotel Topeka at City Center

Bar was open late. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Definitely will stay again.

Disliked: Breakfast was too expensive.

Disliked: The shower head was leaking in our room and the breakfast was ok, the fruit was soiled and the cream cheese for our bagels was also sour

GREAT location! OUTDATED rooms

Liked: The location of the hotel was great! I liked that the hotel was located in the conference center I was working from and I could just walk. The room was spacious and the common area was well maintained.
Disliked: I did not like that the rooms were outdated and a lamp in my room did not work. The bathroom and shower curtain were kind of gross. The couch in the room looks like it had been worn out and has been there for 50+ years.!

Had a little swimming party...

Liked: Everything was OK love the pool love the rules, but did not like the front desk clerk that did the overnight shift
Disliked: The man at the front desk for overnight was very rude

Pretty weird-only other guests were...

Liked: Had a real sixties vibe! Might be a good site for Scientology convention.
Disliked: No food or bar service except for breakfast.

Dingy

Liked: The staff was friendly.
Disliked: Noisy a/c with dirty filter. I immediately felt stuffy and slept poorly. The sheets did not feel clean and were itchy. I decided to cover the pillow with t-shirt to stop the itching. The pillows themselves were like lumps of wadded up towels. The location is in the middle of giant parking lot, so if the restaurant is closed the only option is a delivery service. If I was not there on business with an early morning the next day I would have left at midnight.

Liked: Nice Clean room size and up to date amenities location to ballroom parking
Disliked: Property was nice the check in auditor was rude and condescending toward the way I booked my room through a third party she also made a statement she need to take a $50 deposit for damages I MAY CAUSE i am a 55 yo black career woman I felt discriminated against i asked for a receipt for the $50 i signed she got upset and said it was just for her record i stated i signed and paid may i please get a copy in then which she did To smooth it out the morning cashier for breakfast was excellent great customer service great public relations even though the check in was rough the over all stay and hospitality of the other staff were great
