Hotel The Originals Rouen Notre-Dame

We left the hotel tired...

Liked: The hotel was within walking distance of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Recent renovations are noticeable and appreciated
Disliked: No air conditioning meant we had to sleep with the window open. There was lots of activity at the park across the street with people yelling and screaming. The area the hotel was in was not one that I would feel safe in at night.

Never Ever Again

Liked: The breakfast was reasonably good. The young lady at the reception desk in the morning was very friendly and took good care of the guests.
Disliked: Where do I start? Finding the place was near impossible because every street was either one-way or closed off for construction. The man at the reception desk when we arrived was a little less friendly. In his defense, it was 30°C with no air-conditioning. The neighborhood was rather frightening! I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee, USA, so I am accustomed to sketchy areas, but this one made me look twice before stepping out of the car. Shards of auto glass littered the street by the entrance of the hotel, a sure sign of break-ins. Everything restaurant we tried was either closed or serving only alcohol. We finally stumbled across Holy Moly Burgers, and yes! A bright spot to the evening!

Disliked: No air con. Very noisy road at 5am rubbish collection every day.

Liked: Great location, comfortable bed and very clean small hotel at a great value.
Disliked: No air conditioning.

Liked: Great bike storage and e-bike charging.
Disliked: We stayed Saturday night and had lots of loud street noise in the early hours
