Exceptional

Quiet, comfortable, and beautiful.

Liked: The place was beautiful. Really nice vibe throughout the entire hotel. Breakfast was good, had all the basics. The staff was exceptional. Rooms were fairly clean, however, things like the carpet and the wood floor are starting to show its age and make it look dirtier than it actually is. Quiet area, walking distance to many beautiful locations. Took us about 30 mins to walk to the Louvre. It's about a 12-15 min metro ride (that's with walking to the metro). Great affordable and fancy restaurants surrounding the location for whatever your budget is.

Fun city trip.

Liked: The location corresponded to my expectations - 12 mins from Gare de L'Est and walking distance to metro stations. It was close to lots of nice restaurants and bars. The breakfast was ok. The external isolation of the rooms was good, I didn't hear a lot from the street. The air con worked well. The staff were nice. There is a nice big bathroom to change before the trip and we could leave our luggage in a special room on our last day and when we arrived early too.
Disliked: I would suggest to have labels for cheeses and cold meats as I wasn't sure what I was eating. The cucumbers and other veggies were cut in very thick slices and were very dry or a bit old tasting. The internal sound isolation in the room is very bad, I was in a small individual room and could hear people talking in the corridor as if they were with me. The bathroom was a bit hard to move around.

Overall, a good choice for...

Liked: Very clean. Entire hotel refurrbished during the pandemic. Convenient to restaurants and Metro. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bedroom a good size. The laptop safe was a particularly nice feature. My MacBook fit easily but something an inch or two larger would probably fit too. I had the breakfast two mornings and it was a lovely selection: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage(strange little red firm ones), sliced meats and cheeses, cereals, breads, chocolate croissants, delicious fruit salad, yogurts.
Disliked: No decaffeinated coffee at breakfast and the single-serves for the coffee in the room had blue rims and green rims but no identification of which was the decaf. I asked at the desk and was told the blue is decaf but after I used the one supplied the refills were all the green. Closet is small and only 5 hangers supplied. I asked for more and was told they would be supplied but they never came. In their defense, I might have got them if I had asked again because the staff were very nice but I only asked the once. The bathroom was so small I could not close the door and stand at the washbasin and I am a small in clothes sizes. There was a leak from under the sink which was nicely fixed the next morning but not sure how the cleaner did not notice after the previous guest The rainfall shower head would be a nice touch in a larger shower but in 3ftx2.5ft it';s an overkill and washes the soap off before you can finish soaping up unless you turn the water off until ready to rinse.
