Lovely hotel in a charming...

Liked: It’s a very charming hotel that’s been kept up really well. Staff is wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Furniture in the big room (king and queen beds) is a little worn. But still everything is in working order and very clean.

Liked: Visited for New Years Eve Prohibition event. It was probably the best New Years experience we've had. Encouraging patreons to join staff by dressing in era appropriate clothes created an authentic feel. Dinner was lovely. Drinks in the Copper Room made the evening perfect! The musicians & singers were great to listen to all night. Normally we would never go out on New Years. Many public events in Sacramento (where we live) aren't even safe to attend anymore. Drunk unruly crowds have led to more than one shooting in Old Sacramento (very similar historical town). It's sad when we have an equally cool spot in our own backyard yet it is too dangerous to enjoy. Sutter was safe, not overly crowded, no obnoxious intoxicated people. Just a relaxing & enjoyable experience. We will be making the drive to visit in the future. Well worth traveling for.
Disliked: No tiny fridge/microwave made us order less at restaurant downstairs no way to safely keep/reheat. Missed opportunity to capitalize on the restaurant by offering some sort of room service; even limited menu & hours would go a long way to add to the luxury feel.

Hallmark hotel

Liked: Nice breakfast, but there are also excellent options within a short stroll. Restaurants is very good. Has a cozy bar.
Disliked: Window won't stay open and was heavy to lift. Wouldn't want to use it to escape.

Old Style Beauty

Liked: Great location near shopping, antiques, food. Walked all around despite the chill but relaxed & carefree. Great small town feel.
Disliked: Everything was good a little pricey on clothes,etc. Some establishments closed early 5pm, couple places only opened Thursday to Sunday.
