Disgusting, unhygienic place should be...
Liked: Nothing, the entire facility smelt like cigarettes.
Disliked: Absolutely Disgusting – Unsafe, Unhygienic, and Possibly IllegalThis place should not be allowed to operate under current conditions. Upon entering, it was immediately clear the standard of cleanliness and safety was well below acceptable. Here’s a breakdown:•The bathroom was infested with black mould, which would flake off in chunks when the water was turned on. This is a serious health hazard. Under the NSW Public Health Regulation 2022, accommodation premises must be kept in a clean and sanitary condition. Black mould can cause respiratory issues and allergic reactions, especially in a confined space like a bathroom.•No hot water = no shower. This is a breach of basic amenity standards expected under the Boarding Houses Act 2012 and the Public Health Act 2010, which require that occupants have access to hot and cold water for bathing and hygiene.•The bed was clearly not cleaned properly, as it had hair from previous guests in it. This is a violation of hygiene standards and duty of care, and may fall under Australian Consumer Law (ACL) regarding misleading representations about cleanliness and suitability for accommodation.•The air conditioner was mouldy, potentially spreading contaminated air through the room. Again, this breaches health and hygiene obligations under NSW public health legislation.•The property falsely advertises soundproof rooms. I could clearly hear the TVs of other guests. This could be considered false advertising under the Australian Consumer Law, which prohibits businesses from making misleading or deceptive statements about their products or services.•Security is non-existent. Literally anyone from the public can walk up to your room door. There is no secure entrance or locking system for non-guests. This is a serious safety concern and could be considered negligence under common law duty of care. Properties have a legal obligation to take reasonable steps to ensure guest safety.•The car park is a joke.
