Nice & pleasant stay

Liked: Spacious clean room; perfect location - restaurants, bars, interesting places within walking distance.
Disliked: Daily paid parking. Parking should be included free during our stay.

A great value in a...

Liked: The room was very clean, had an AC unit in the window that was able to keep the room cool during a very hot time in Montreal. It's very close to one of the main metro stops which makes it very easy to get around. The area felt safe. There are a couple food options very close by for late night snacks without needing to wander too far.Make sure to check out the basement which has a really cool lounge area that looks like it used to be a bootlegging bar or something like that from the 1920s.Staff are all very friendly and it was great that we were able to store our luggage on departure day after checkout for a few hours!
Disliked: The hotel is on the older more "traditional" side. Everything was turned off when we got into the room. Fridge was off, AC was off. It made it feel a bit like we were "opening" the room up for guests. The swing latch bolt for security didn't have a spot to secure on the door, so we just had the standard swipe key for security overnight.

Liked: Comparatively not expensive, but you know why: a very basic motel with some dodgy characters hanging around, thin walls and old / worn furnishings. Was ok for the night, but was also glad to leave.

Disliked: The queen bed was great. The king bed was pretty rough. It was like laying down on a piece of plywood with loose extention cords under a top sheet. : )

very reminiscent of European accommodation-...

Liked: Great location, good room size, clean, comfortable, quiet
Disliked: Parking was supposed to be for overnight and I got charged another 2$ from the kiosk on the way out in the morning, not sure what that was about. Old style and felt stuffy. Lots of garbage in the ally way to the parking garage.
