Liked: Decoration
Disliked: They charge a deposit of over $200, which is not clearly stated upfront. There is no minibar, no room service, and yet they require a deposit for no apparent reason. This extra fee should be considered part of the total cost when booking. Although they said the deposit would be refunded, it's been four days since I checked out and I still haven’t received it.

Central stay, good value for...
Liked: Central location, comfy room with a nice city view.
Disliked: No coffee machine in the room.The interior design felt a bit off, with swans on the doors and a carpet that didn’t really match anything else.

Worst experience
Liked: Absolutely nothing
Disliked: Extremely disappointing experience — no hot water for 24 hours, dishonesty, and incorrect billingMy recent stay at Hotel Spero was extremely disappointing and frustrating.Upon check-in at 3 PM, I was not informed that the hotel had no hot water due to maintenance. Only after entering my room and realizing the issue did I inquire at the front desk — where I was told hot water would not be available until 9 PM.I was offered a $50 restaurant credit as compensation, which I accepted. Unfortunately, even after returning at 11 PM, hot water was still unavailable. The next morning (before my flight), the issue remained unresolved.In total, I spent 24 hours unable to take a shower, despite paying full price for my stay.To make matters worse, I later discovered that the restaurant charge ($35) was billed to my credit card, despite the promised credit.This experience reflects poor communication, lack of transparency, failure to provide basic services, and dishonest billing. I cannot recommend this hotel and will not return.

I felt duped and deceived
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: I booked and paid for a suite and was downgraded to a standard room. When I complained that the junior suite that was given to me was very dirty. I actually paid for urban suite and although a clean bigger suite was available the manager wanted another $100 to give me a clean unit. As a result they downgraded us to a standard room. Nothing like this ever happened with me !

Enjoyable
Liked: Good location, in comfortable walking distance of Moscone Conference Centre, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Union Square.Friendly, helpful staff.Flexible check-in and check-out times.Comfortable attractive common area/ foyer.Pleasant room with open city view.
Disliked: One day of no hot water; another day of interrupted water supply, -but problems sorted fairly promptly.These things happen!Limited dining facilities, -but good restaurants available nearby.Limited gym facilities.
