The Spotlight on Hotel Sorrento

Classic Elegance Just Steps from Seattle's Music Scene

Hotel Sorrento is a uniquely charming, upscale hotel nestled in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. With its stunning century-old Italianate architecture, lush garden entrance, and cozy lounge fireplaces, this boutique property brings a romantic, old-world charm to your concert getaway. Overlooking the downtown skyline and just a short ride from major music venues, it's a peaceful retreat with personality and rich history.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel delivers both convenience and comfort for music lovers. Located just minutes from downtown Seattle’s top concert halls and clubs, Hotel Sorrento offers an easy base for show nights with late-night rideshare access right outside. After the encore, return to a quiet, serene space—perfect for winding down. The generous 12:00 PM checkout lets you sleep in, and the hotel’s intimate, relaxed vibe makes it a favorite for travelers looking for something more personal than a chain hotel.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends who want a classy home base - Solo travelers catching a legendary act - Couples pairing the show with a romantic escape - Fans seeking a quiet place to relax post-show - Budget-conscious music lovers looking to splurge for a special occasion

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Dunbar Room and adjacent Fireside Room are local favorites, serving seasonal fare and craft cocktails in a cozy setting. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the restaurant stays open late enough for a post-show bite. Morning-after breakfast is served with care—perfect for recovering from a night of dancing. Plus, you're walkable to several neighborhood cafés and eateries.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel itself leans toward a more refined, tranquil atmosphere, you’re just blocks from Seattle’s buzzing nightlife. Whether you're craving a high-energy club, a quiet cocktail lounge, or a live music dive bar, options abound nearby. Back at the hotel, the Fireside Room often hosts intimate music or literary events, making it a low-key spot to keep the night going.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s historic charm, personalized service, and stylish, comfortable rooms. Many highlight the great location for exploring the city and its concert venues, as well as the cozy vibe that makes it easy to relax after a show. The garden and outdoor seating areas get frequent praise, as does the food and drink quality.

Areas for Improvement

While most love the classic decor, some mention that the hotel’s vintage charm comes with quirks—like smaller bathrooms or older elevators. Parking is valet-only and can be a bit pricey, so consider using rideshares if you're going car-free for your trip.

The Bottom Line

Hotel Sorrento is a timeless Seattle stay with character, comfort, and close access to the city’s best concert venues—ideal for music fans seeking a memorable, upscale experience.

Seattle's Most Special Place -...

Liked: The reason I booked the Hotel Sorrento was because it made a lasting impression on me from the first and only time I visited. The lobby and fireplace are one of a kind. The location is great. A BIG bonus was the large patio with tables and umbrellas for outdoor dining. When the weather cooperates, you can't beat Seattle. Our room had plenty of old world touches and luxury and overlooked the patio below.
Disliked: I understand that the layout of the old building makes fashioning modern spaces difficult. However, I booked a suite and it was all room but the bathroom was painfully difficult to maneuver. The toilet was sandwiched in a telephone booth sized space and there was no outdoor air access to the bathroom as a whole. Meanwhile, the room was so long and burdened with dead space in the middle, that it felt cold. Another oversight was the artwork intended above the desk was missing with empty hooks in its place. I paid a premium to feel pampered. This particular version of the Ravello Studio Suite wasn't what I hoped from the pictures I saw online.

A pleasant and relaxing stay

Liked: Staff was amazing. They were friendly and helpful. My son and his friend went to a concert nearby and they were sure to ask about it the next morning. It gave us a good feeling all around.
Disliked: The price for parking was a bit high but after looking around, I am realizing that is just how expensive parking is in the area.

Nice staff, comfortable room, good...

Liked: The staff were all extremely nice!!! Especially Jess and Richard at the front desk, very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was far enough away from the downtown area to be really quiet at all times.
Disliked: The bar connected to the hotel had a bit of a strange vibe, almost as if one of the bartenders was being bullied by the staff. Also if you are over 6 feet tall, the queen bed might be a bit too small.
