Great value. Wonderful location. Great...
Liked: The hotel was nice with coffee, fruit and pastry included. It was very central. The staff was wonderful.
Disliked: We had a bottom floor room, and it was very dark. Also, the bed was not that comfortable, but for the price I really don’t want to complain.

Charming City, "Disappointing Hotel Experience"
Liked: The location is excellent, as it is close to all the historical sites and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The breakfast offered a basic coffee and a slice of bread, which is suitable for starting your day in a nice terraza.
Disliked: I would prefer to focus on the positive aspects, as Puebla is a beautiful city with many accommodation options. However, my experience at the hotel was not great from the start. The receptionist was rude and did not make us feel welcome. She assigned us a room with poor ventilation and a window that connected to a patio, which trapped heat. The room had a small fan, but the first night was unbearable. When I requested a different room, they seemed upset. After I emailed Booking.com, the hotel staff responded differently and moved us to a room with air conditioning. It's a shame because the hotel is clean and has a nice, recently updated structure, but it suffers from ventilation issues and lacks proper windows. The receptionists definitely need to enhance their customer service skills.

Ok, but wdnt go back.
Liked: The room had a very large bed which was great but it left no room on the floor for your suitcases. There were no drinking glasses in the room and when we asked they gave us paper cups. We had to give my husbands driving license as security to obtain the control for the air conditioning. Some of the staff were lovely and cooperative and others performed their duties with poker faces. There was also an atrium outside one of our bedroom windows which had floodlights. There was nothing down there but every night we had to ask for them to turn it off so we cd sleep, the first night they turned it off when asked, the second they said they cdnt do it til 11pm, but then they turned it off at 9.50pm and the third night they turned it off when asked. Completely bazaar … no policy, rhyme or reason. Also the shower head was appalling, squirting a fine spray over a huge area or beating the shit out of you if you stood directly under it. Not good at all!
Disliked: The staff mostly. The shower. Needed glasses to drink from in the bedroom. Didn’t enjoy the Three cakes for breakfast. There was also a bit of fruit which was great

Perfect Place to Stay
Liked: We loved our room at Hotel Sofia. It was good sized, had a table and chair, somewhere to place luggage and a hutch with a place to hang your clothes along with several drawers. There was a nice flat screen TV and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very large. The lady who cleaned our room was delightful and did an excellent job.The upstairs terrace was a really great space to sit and relax.
Disliked: I had two issues. The first was that I had to leave my ID at the front desk in order to be given the air conditioner remote. They will give you the two remotes for the TV, but not the air conditioner. The second issue was that two of the three ladies working upstairs on the roof terrace would bring us the menu and from that point on I had get up and go to the bar to order food, drinks, etc. and then go back for anything else we wanted. They never came to ask if we needed anything else. The one was busy on her phone the whole time, and the other had earphones on and was listening to her music the whole time. This was mainly at night. The third lady that worked the morning shift did a nice job.
