Exceptional

Room with a view.

Liked: Outstanding room, very comfortable with it's own balcony and shared rooftop bar (access from our Penthouse Room).Staff very friendly and helpful.We only had breakfast in the hotel, mainly continental with a few hot options, but plentiful.Close to many amenities.
Disliked: Everything was fantastic.

Disappointing given the cost.

Disliked: We were directed to online check in which we found impersonal. It took 3 goes for our enter cards to work. Amenities such as tissues, toilet paper, used glasses and cups were not replenished during our stay. Room was very small.

A hotel of contrasts

Liked: The bed was very comfortable, although I'm not always a fan of single duvets for a double bed. The breakfast was excellent, and I enjoyed the novelty of serving ourselves in a kitchen as the chefs prepared breakfast.
Disliked: The staff fell short in several areas. Generally, there was a bad, unfriendly environment throughout the hotel from check-in to the bar staff and on check-out. As an example, we pointed out that there were remnants of someone else's lipstick on a coffee cup that my wife had drunk from, and despite this, there was no apology or offer to replace the cup of coffee; my wife had to retrieve a replacement—a simple example, but one that set the tone. We had a similar situation in the bar with dirty glasses, again, no offer of replacement. At checkout, the lady at reception failed even to ask how our stay had been, more interested in receiving payment for breakfast charges and moving on to the next person.
