Superb

Superb location, welcoming staff, delicious...

Liked: Staff was very friendly but unobtrusive. Always ready to serve at the bar, but not lingering. Breakfast was optional for a reasonable fee (17 euro), ordered evening prior which is very nice to have exactly what you want. Omelets made to order and croissants were superb. Comfortable, firm beds. We much appreciated having a door to a small courtyard. No seating in the courtyard, but very pleasant for fresh air and hearing the mourning doves.
Disliked: We had a "large, deluxe triple" but even then a bit cozy for three. No lounge chair or sitting area in room, other than two small cafe chairs best used for backpacks.

Excellent stay

Liked: Close to the Amsterdam central train station. Super quiet and cool to sleep in.

If you want a good...

Liked: The location was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk.
Disliked: The property is showing its age a bit. Ex. Lighted makeup mirror was broken.

Liked: Authenticity of a dutch building on a canal. Fabulous interior style

Small room with a great...

Liked: View of canal. Helpful friendly staff.
Disliked: 1. You can’t be surprised that a room described as Small turns out to be small. But it is very snug for two people and their luggage. No desk to work at. 2. You pay a large premium for the canal view. Best to think of it as a room plus two tickets to a show. If I were staying more than one night in Amsterdam I would choose something more affordable. 3. It’s just a little bit far from public transport.

Fine for one night but...

Liked: Lovely view of canal through large window. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Location quiet and convenient for visiting the city centre.
Disliked: Very compact room and bathroom but may be typical of central Amsterdam. Dark decor in bedroom.
