Nice location, Great views, but...

Liked: The views from this room was pretty cool. The old-fashioned quaintness of the room was nice. The bed was confortable.
Disliked: The room is not maintained well. It seems like this place is an afterthought by those running it. The carpet is very old and not clean. The bathroom was not cleaned well. The bathroom itself would benefit from addition by subtraction. The ancient rubber shower mat (that has certainly not been cleaned in years) needs to go. The bright pink hair dryer that was no doubt left by a bygone hotel guest and is covered in years with of dust adds nothing at all! The cloth shower curtain (That again, has likely not been cleaned in years) sticks to your skin as you shower. It has stuck to other people's skin too!

Had a very nice stay...

Liked: Great location near the bay, shops, and restaurants. Friendly and engaging staff. Clean facilities.
Disliked: Our TV service was interrupted for a while and management had to contact the cable company to fix it. A neighboring room was somewhat noisy and made it difficult to sleep at first.

Liked: It wasn’t in San Francisco. That’s a bonus. The shower was nice. Guy at front desk was helpful.
Disliked: Small room with not many areas to put our stuff. Coffee maker was not convenient to a plug in. And the coffee maker was dirty. We ran water through it before we made coffee.

Could be lovely hotel, but....

Liked: The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the waterfront. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was really well stocked. I liked the selection of coffees and the bathroom amenities.
Disliked: We were woken up at 6.45am by the extremely noisy men working on the pavement, right outside the hotel. We weren't given any warning of this, despite the fact the work has definitely been going on for more than a few days. There was no one at reception when we arrived. If the very friendly cleaning lady hadn't happen to walk past, we would have been stuck outside waiting for ages. Not happy at all. Definitely not worth the money we paid

Liked: SFBay is gorgeous & Sausalito Harbor is gorgeous too!
Disliked: Room was a Lil small, did no t have a microwave or mini table to put any snacks anywhere. Beds comfortable & was clean. I would stay there again.

Liked: We have stayed here before; we love the historical charm, its location, and the sort of b & b feel of the place. This is definitely our go-to place, perfectly located to everything you need, the ferry, restaurants, leisure walks, etc.
Disliked: When we arrived at the room, it had a strong smell, and the heater was not functioning very well (keeping in mind it's historical). However, the host gave us a space heater, which worked perfectly well. The combination of that and the opening of the windows seemed to eliminate the smell, which I presume may simply be from the fact that it's a very old building. Nonetheless, we loved the charm of the place and we will definitely be back for another stay.
