Ok, but would not come...

Liked: The location is really good. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated
Disliked: They only had one coffee machine in the lobby and it wasn’t working for the 5 days that we’ve stayed there. There is no room service before 1pmAlthough we’ve turned the heat on, the room tends to get very cold, especially at night. Breakfast options very limited and always the same. No vegetables and barely any fruits’

Liked: The room for 3 adults was huge with great views.

Liked: The rooftop terrace, when it opened was a nice place to have a drink, with views of the surrounding city. Likewise the restaurant on the level down was nice.
Disliked: Having splashed out on a room as a treat, when I checked in at 2am, found that I was in the old part of the hotel, so the room was much more old and dated than the photos on the website. The bathroom stank. Very noisy building works started right outside my door at 9am. For the price this cost, it was incredibly poor experience. I have paid a lot less for rooms in Madrid, and had a much better experience.

Nice city break in the...

Liked: - very good location, close to Calle Preciados and Gran Via- roomy and well equipped bathroom, with a bathtub- adequate storage space- balcony, refrigerator and "night lighting"- friendly and competent staff
Disliked: - room is smaller than one might think from the pictures- in the "old building", you need to climb stairs to reach the elevators, the breakfast room, the roof terrace, etc. This is not advertised anywhere, creates difficulties for people with mobility problems and with heavy or big luggage. Despite this, no help with luggage was offered.- room fixtures are somewhat shabby, light bulbs keep going off, motion detector lighting for the toilet is maddening- the room safe is an older model, requiring you to use some type of card with a magnetic strip at each opening

Disliked: the mattress would slide down when sitting on the bed and leaning on the wall
