Cheap but not so cheerful
Liked: It was relatively cheap and parking was included. The property, which was very clean, appears to be a former seminary for Catholic priests that now functions as a conference and retreat centre - not a problem for us but guests should be aware of this. The grounds are pleasant with ample parking. There is a shared kitchen with microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, coffee machine, etc.
Disliked: Not much of a welcome and only about 10 guests in a large facility. Personally, I wouldn't have fancied venturing outside of the grounds on foot at night and I am not normally of a nervous disposition. The bathroom was effectively a wet room and once we had used the shower it was completely wet for the whole of our stay. Everything felt a bit Spartan (e.g. no TV or coffee facilities in room) and while we understood that we had to vacate the property by 10.00 am, we were surprised to have the light turned out in the kitchen at 9.45 am and almost to be escorted off the premises. You could feel pretty lonely if you were here on your own. Not recommended - sorry.

Pleasant
Liked: Location is close to the tram line and really friendly staff.
Disliked: The bathrooms were dirty and had mould. The rooms were similar to that of a dormitory and had no fridge or air conditioning

Mixed feelings
Liked: Availability of parking onsite and closeness to the centre were the key selection criteria. The facilities were basic but good; alas no AC during a heatwave, but the hotel warned us in advance. Breakfast was basic, but good value for money.
Disliked: The hotel operation is a side business of the diocesan office. Staff were friendly and helpful, if not very professional and somewhat amateurish The promised bottles of chilled water at reception turned out not to be available (only one half-litre bottle for three pax). The hotel closes for the weekend at 10 am on Saturday morning; this should be made clear when booking.

Exceptional building but limited with...
Liked: Lovely building and welcome at reception. This is like a university where they let out rooms during summer. It’s clean but no facilities
Disliked: No evening restaurant at all, no bar but chap got us drinks. It’s basically self serve and has a kitchen you can use but no where close to get any food! We had to eat popcorn and that’s all! After a long drive you need to be aware you need to bring your own and that was not clear
