The Spotlight on Hotel Saint Cecilia

Retro Cool Meets Rock & Roll Luxury in Austin

Modern yet steeped in vintage vibes, Hotel Saint Cecilia is a stylish boutique escape in the heart of Austin’s music-loving soul. Named after the patron saint of music and poetry, this 5-star hideaway blends artistic charm with upscale comfort. Tucked away just off South Congress, it's perfectly positioned for concert-goers—close to major venues yet wrapped in serene, greenery-shaded grounds.

Why Concert-goers love it

Music fans can't get enough of the record players in every room and the laid-back, bohemian rockstar atmosphere. Located less than 2 miles from hot spots like the Austin Convention Center and Frank Erwin Center, it’s an easy ride-share or scooter trip after a show. The 24-hour front desk comes in handy for late-night returns, and the peaceful poolside bungalows offer a quiet retreat after the encore.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking to splurge on a stylish crash pad
Solo travelers chasing their favorite artist in style
Couples making a weekend of music and romance
Fans who want to unwind poolside after a show
Budget-conscious? This one’s a splurge, but the experience is top-tier

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant serves up classic American dishes with a modern twist, and there's a daily à la carte breakfast perfect for sleeping in after a late night. Room service is available, and the South Congress neighborhood offers plenty of walkable late-night dining—from tacos to upscale bites.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more of a tranquil sanctuary, you're just a short stroll or ride from South Congress bars, local live music joints, and craft cocktail lounges. The intimate poolside lounge area is great for a nightcap with friends.

What People Say

Guests rave about the vintage-chic design, lush, quiet grounds, and the feeling of staying in a private artist’s retreat. The vinyl record players and curated music library are a huge hit, especially with music lovers. Staff gets high marks for being friendly and low-key.

Areas for Improvement

It’s more of a boutique escape than a party pad—so don’t expect a buzzing late-night scene on-site. Pricing is on the higher end, and some guests mention the rooms could use more lighting.

The Bottom Line

For music fans seeking a stylish, serene stay close to the action, Hotel Saint Cecilia hits all the right notes.

Gorgeous property, fab staff -...

Liked: Relaxed vibe, very boutique feel with gorgeous decor everywhere..24 hr access to pool. Record player. Staff were super friendly and went above and beyond. Grounds felt really private and well maintained. Free parking. We stayed in 2 different rooms, both were lovely but preferred the pool bungalow for privacy and space. I can see why celebs choose to stay here. We wished we could stay longer but it was fully booked so they helped us book their sister hotel next door (Magdelena) which was also cute decor wise, great brekky & staff etc but had a lot of guests and was more rowdy and less personal than St Cecilia’s. Big shout out to Tara who looked after us, extended our stay and made sure a pregnancy pillow and heavy bags were sorted out ☺️
Disliked: Almost everything was perfect but sadly the food/cafe needs work. Everything we had was overly salted, even the butter for croissants had like a teaspoon of salt on top. Sadly the morning coffee was either incorrect or awful everytime. There was 0 consistency. A flat white is not filtered coffee with a dash of milk. They always seemed to forget sugar. A trained barista and a chef who is not so heavy handed on the salt would step things up a level.

Poor

Disliked: I had a piece of gum stuck to the bottom of the remote, they came and cleaned it up, but I felt that there should have been more done since I paid so much-- they said they would help out but didnt. odd. I choose night hotels bc I want them to be clean

Relaxing and comfortable

Liked: Breakfast was delicious
Disliked: Breakfast was very expensive- seemed disproportionate. I think a little more direction on how to get to check in would have been appropriate when we called from the parking lot. Considering the distance it would have been nice if someone had asked if we needed help with our bags.
