Liked: Hotel Royal is truly exceptional. This is a hotel that beautifully preserves the charm and warmth of traditional hospitality while incorporating modern comforts. Unlike many places today that feel overly automated or impersonal, Hotel Royal offers a human and elegant experience.The architecture and atmosphere are splendid – every detail, from the interior design to the ambient lighting, reflects a thoughtful and artistic touch. Staying here feels like stepping into a living piece of history, maintained with the highest standards.The breakfast is excellent in terms of both quality and variety. The hotel is also perfectly located just a few minutes' walk from the central train station.I will return to Gothenburg just to stay at Hotel Royal again. It’s that special.

Good location, but too much...

Liked: The location is great and the old style of everything (including the use of physical keys) has its charm.
Disliked: I requested a quiet room... And they game one facing the street (when they have others facing an internal patio), so it was difficult for me to sleep due to the noise.

Fabulous stay in beautiful hotel.

Liked: The hotel is wonderful. Reception staff, especially Victor, were so helpful & informative. Breakfasts delicious & so much choice. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed & sofa. Loved the 'Fika' each day & lovely sitting areas.Gothenburg is a fabulous city & we would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again.
Disliked: A safe in the room would be good.The shower room was really spacious & could have benefitted from a larger shower enclosure.
