The Spotlight on Hotel Royal

Stylish, Retro-Chic Stay in the Heart of Long Beach

Hotel Royal blends vintage charm with modern comfort in downtown Long Beach. Just a 15-minute walk from the beach and close to key music venues, this 3-star boutique hotel is a smart pick for music lovers who want to stay central without breaking the bank. Expect vibrant decor, comfy rooms, and a cool, laid-back vibe that fits perfectly with the local arts and music scene.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything—and Hotel Royal delivers. You’re close to downtown Long Beach’s live music spots, with the Queen Mary just over 2 miles away. After the show, retreat to a peaceful, quiet room away from the late-night noise. With on-site concierge service and flexible luggage storage, you can explore the city before or after check-in. Plus, the nearby public transport and walkable streets make late-night returns safe and easy.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a show and looking for affordable, stylish digs
  • Solo travelers catching a dream tour stop
  • Couples making a full weekend of their concert plans
  • Fans who want a quieter, low-key recovery zone after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value without sacrificing charm

Food and Drink Options

While Hotel Royal doesn’t have an on-site restaurant, you’re surrounded by local cafes, taco joints, and hip eateries—all within walking distance. Grab a strong coffee or hearty breakfast nearby after a late night. Rooms come with a fridge and coffee maker, and some even have kitchens, great for quick bites before the show.

Nightlife Options

Downtown Long Beach nightlife is just steps away. You'll find plenty of bars with live DJs, beachside lounges, and craft cocktail spots to keep the night going after the encore. While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s in the heart of the action, making it easy to party or chill as you choose.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and unbeatable location. Many mention the hotel’s unique charm, with colorful decor and a cozy, boutique feel. Reviewers also appreciate the quiet, restful atmosphere despite being so close to downtown nightlife.

Areas for Improvement

Some rooms can be on the smaller side, and there’s no elevator, so pack light if you're heading to an upper floor. Parking is available but not free—budget a bit extra if you’re driving. Still, most guests say the charm and location more than make up for it.

The Bottom Line

Hotel Royal is a stylish, affordable launchpad for concert-goers who want to stay central, sleep comfortably, and soak in the Long Beach music scene.

An excellent and affordable stay

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, nice location near to restaurants, and near to cruise port. Room had everything needed for convenience, and grocery stores nearby.
Disliked: Only downside i can think of is the lack of an elevator. It wasnt a significant issue for us, but bring suitcases up stairs could be difficult for some people, though im sure that staff would be happy to assist.

Exceptional

Liked: We stayed in the Premier Royal Loft and had a lovely experience. The apartment was spacious, beautifully styled, and thoughtfully laid out. The cooking facilities were excellent, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay—would definitely recommend!A bonus was the fabulous little Thai restaurant—Thai District—just across the road. Great food, and I highly recommend the COCONUT HOT SOUFFLÉ for dessert! Just be sure to order it at the beginning of your meal, as it takes time to prepare.
Disliked: The only downside was the stairs leading up to the loft, which were a bit cumbersome to navigate with heavy suitcases. However, once we were up there, it was absolutely worth it. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay—highly recommended!

Passable

Liked: Perfect location, close to most things on foot! or even 5 minutes in the car to the port!
Disliked: The rooms were very small, i’m claustrophobic and had to ask for a slightly bigger room! The personnel at the front desk were amazing at helping to find a solution straight away!
