Good two non-consecutive night’s stay...

Liked: The hotel is well located very near to the Grossmunster and five minutes from the old town, with restaurants nearby. From the central station it is a short walk across the River to Central Tramstop to take the tram to Helmhaus. The hotel is less than a five minute walk away, but over cobbles and slightly uphill in the road up to the Hotel. The area was safe. I had no problems coming back late at night after the Women’s Euros matches. I arrived at 12.30pm on both my visits, but my room was ready on both occasions, ahead of the check-in time, so I could drop my bags and exit quickly to explore the city. The hotel is clean as were the rooms I stayed in. All appliances worked. Tea was available on the room. The lift was small but efficient with no long waits. There was no internal noise. There is noise from the street below, but not enough to prevent a good night’s sleep. The reception staff are friendly. I did not have breakfast, but bought croissants at the central station due to early train journeys.
Disliked: Unlike other Swiss hotels I stayed in, I was not offered a travel card with free travel. It may be that Zurich hotels don’t offer this, but it meant that I had to walk to the station on the day of my departure as the Helmhaus tram stop does not have a ticket machine. It’s a 10 - 15 minute walk, which may not be a problem on sunshine, but not great when raining. The room rate is expensive as there are no frills, but this probably reflects Switzerland prices, as it was the least inexpensive option I could find for the standard I wanted.

The perfect location for exploring...

Liked: The location was perfect for exploring Old Town and close to public transportation. It was super easy to get to from the airport.
Disliked: The weather was quite warm while we were there and although we had fans, it was still rather warm for sleeping.
