Comfortable stay in Puebla Historic...
Liked: Very comfortable and well sized room. Clean room. In a convenient location in the historic center. Kind and friendly cleaning and desk staff. Restaurant attached to the building for convenience.
Disliked: Smell from drain every once in a while. Noise from outdoors (but you can opt for a room without window).

Liked: Clean and elegant with strategic location. The only negative is the noise from the streets. Otherwise it is great.

Nice people, too loud, horrible...
Liked: it is close to the city, the staff were nice.
Disliked: It was soooo loud! If you get a room on the road side, it is in front of the lucha libre arena (so Mondays there are fights) and there are buses, trucks, police sirens and cars all night long! I thought the traffic would die down at night, but it didn't. I asked to change rooms, which they kindly did. The new room was quieter, however, they put me in a room that had the most intense chemical smell. A mixture of humidity (which is common in old buildings) and a strong chemical varnish smell. It was so bad, that all my clothes smelt like this and I had to take them all to be washed, I woke up with a headache every day. I ended up changing hotels because it was intolerable. It was like the smell of chemical varnish or paint thinner.

Exceptional
Liked: My simple tiled room with reliable hot water was perfect for me. I had an interior room with no window but the french doors with opaque glass let in plenty of light. WiFi was for the most part reliable and fast.
Disliked: I would have preferred a room with a window but the room I had was fine. You can hear the lucha libre going on at the Arena Puebla a block away but it didn't bother me.

Liked: We just stayed for one night and we were very tired so we slept well (the mattress was very comfortable), although there is a lot of noise coming in from the road depending on which room you get. There were loud buses passing by our window, bring ear plugs 100%. At the same time, location was good in terms of proximity to the center, very walkable to the points of interest. The aesthetic was cute and rooms were big, shower head was barely functional though, it was a long process to wash out the shampoo from our hair. We did have an issue with the bed sheets being stained and they finally changed our room, but after the member of staff saying "they looked clean to them". Overall an ok stay for the price, it could be great with a bit more maintenance.
