Rooms need a refresh, location...
Liked: Location right in the centre of the city.
Disliked: I have arthritis in my back, and am very sensitive to a good support. The mattress was too soft and well used, did not sleep well.Not helped by the fact that we could not get the door to stay locked, and had a stranger come in at 4am!

Liked: Location is great
Disliked: It’s not very secure. The door to the building stays open most of the time, you don’t need a key to get on the elevator or to any of the floors, and the key boxes on each floor with the room keys in weren’t even locked. We travelled with friends and they also had someone enter their room late at night cause they had been told the wrong room number, but still were able to get a key. Really no sense of security at all.

A mixed stay: some good...
Liked: The hotel clearly communicated that the façade was under renovation and offered 25% off food & beverage. The staff in the bar were excellent. The same cannot be said about the reception staff.
Disliked: The reception staff were quite disengaged. Unlike the bar staff, they were dismissive and unwelcoming. When I complained about the room not being cleaned, there was no “I am sorry, can I offer you some towels or amenities?” Instead I got a condescending: “What would you like me to do? I’m not trained to clean rooms.” Then when I called her out on such a condescending and sarcastic response. She said nothing. When I said that I wanted the operations manager website, she passed me a name card with four different email addresses on it. I asked again for the managers’ email address and then she wrote it down and I left. Less than half an hour later, I received an email saying I had been aggressive towards the staff member and risked being ejected and banned. Very aggressive email. I am most concerned about this behaviour.
