Hotel Rheinischer Hof Bad Soden

Disappointing

Liked: Spacious room, very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, modern bathroom
Disliked: After making the reservation and full payment for two rooms, hotel called me to inform me that they had only one room available instead. They were not helpful at all in finding a solution. I had to call Booking.com for an intervention and then the problem was solved.Rooms had not airconditioning. I suffered in the sweltering heat.At 7 am, noisy road reconstruction works started just under my room window.The road reconstruction works around the hotel made access to it very complicated, with no signage. Car could not come close to the hotel.

Hot with no air conditioning....

Liked: Location near the S Bahn Hoff and downtown Kronberg is great.
Disliked: No Air conditioning, with our room over 90 degrees each night in the Summer.

Lost & thirsty at Hotel...

Liked: Location - when I booked !
Disliked: Serious road works in front of hotel meant access was severely restricted. I know this is not the hotels fault, but I could have been forewarned. I drove around the whole area twice before I could find the hotel as the works mean the hotel is completely obscured, even when you are just metres away. A (temporary) sign would be very helpful to arriving guests. Without the help of kind passers-by, I would still be looking for the hotel.Secondly, as the weather was extremely hot, a complementary bottle of water in rooms would be very welcome. As most hotels of this category supply this as standard, I was disappointed that this was not so here, especially in hot weather. Furthermore I was charged 5 euro for a 1 litre bottle of water at reception, which I thought was excessive.I won't be hurrying back...

Liked: Close to transport, restaurants and shops.
Disliked: Carpet in the hallway a bit smelly.

Exceptional

Hotel comfort and staff were...

Liked: Due to government construction at the main train station next door and parking of large equipment in the hotel parking lot, the hotel had almost no parking space in the lot. Not the hotel's fault and they worked diligently to find me alternative parking for my Mercedes van.
