Overall a good stay despite initial hiccup when checking in

Liked: Friendly, helpful staff. Decent food. Room was spotless.
Disliked: Our reservation had been changed from the Hotel Regent as it was currently closed. Despite making and paying for this reservation more than 6 months ago, the hotel receptionist advised that the rooms had not been paid for. This led to an unnecessary wait for my friends and I whilst the issue was resolved, which was only done when I provided evidence of payment via bank transfer. This was completely avoidable, and despite the receptionist saying this error would be escalated to management, I heard nothing further.

Liked: Excellent staff, clean spacious rooms, good breakfast, everything at a reasonable price. The location is especially good if you are travelling for work as it is 2min. walking distance from train station. I had an important meeting in the evening but was tired, the bar was closed. The desk staff brought me an expresso coffee which was of great help, free of charge! Pure kindness. Avoid other hotels south of the train station, bad dodgy area.
Disliked: The rooms might need a better sound isolation from the outside, that area of Munich can be quite noisy during the night. Sadly they had to close for Corona virus, would visit again when times are better.
