My expectations were exceeded and...

Liked: Chloe, who checked me in and bartended, was amazing. Friendly, sincere, professional. The décor was updated and fresh but also had a nice nod to history as a motel. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast (crepe) was very tasty.
Disliked: The only thing that could improve -haha- is the toilet paper was a tad rough and thin.

Exceptional

Liked: We booked a room at Hotel Rapids in December 2023 because they allowed dogs. We enjoyed the experience so much that when we had an opportunity to take a few days off in March 2024, we knew exactly where we were headed. Once again Hotel Rapids did not disappoint us! The staff is extremely friendly and during both of our stays, the owners popped by while we were in the bistro area and chatted. Check-in was a breeze and our dog loved the treat bag. For breakfast, the crepes and coffee were incredible! We made use of the Yurt to play some board games. It had a big screen TV, but we did not turn it on. We sat out back in the evening and used the firepit, which had plenty of wood available. I used the sauna and the essential oils provided. We took advantage of the bar/bistro happy hour as well as visiting a few breweries and shops in the area. There are many hiking trails close by and the staff is always willing to share a place to explore. The beds were very comfortable and noise wasn't an issue for us. Overall, it was another great experience and an awesome value. We will be back!

Very nice hotel in Grand...

Liked: Small nicely renovated motel very comfortable and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place was very welcoming.
Disliked: My only dislike was the noise from the heating system. It was quite loud, but, having said that it worked very well.

Second stay was as good...

Liked: Amazing hotel, I can't believe it was so affordable. The staff was incredibly friendly. Saying the coffee is great would be an understatement. The restaurant in the lobby is top-notch. We came back a second time just to eat the crepes. We will not be staying anywhere else in Grand Rapids.
