Bad

Disliked: We chose this hotel because it included breakfast, but a few days before our arrival they told us that breakfast was cancelled. The room and especially the bathroom were incredibly small and uncomfortable.

A very pleasant experience in...

Liked: Location and the old house itself. The check-in information was accurate. The view to the canal and room under the roof were so Amsterdam.
Disliked: Extremely steep stairs, but that was predictable and not hotel's fault.The only downside - breakfast was included in the booking price, but it was discontinued a few weeks ago and there was no separate information about the change.

Excellent

Liked: The hotel has an excellent location, with an authentic and unique interior inside and a modern one in the rooms. The staff is especially welcoming, and there are coffee machines with capsules both at the reception and in the rooms. You can leave your luggage before check-in or pick it up after check-out, which is very helpful when traveling with large bags. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay!

Liked: You can help yourself to the fridge in reception for drinks. It is relatively cheap, and near some parts of the city centre.
Disliked: Breakfast got cancelled and was agreed that we would get €12.50 back per night in writing however the lady at reception changed last minute to €10.00 because “boss said it was too much”. Hotel is a good 20-30 minute walk from main places in the city centre. It feels quite cramped, steep narrow staircases (no elevator) and quite small rooms which were very hot. Reception is only open at certain times meaning no one is manning any desk for long long periods of time.

Liked: The location is near the city center and close to many attractions.
Disliked: There’s no air conditioning in the room, but a fan is provided. The room is small and narrow, but that’s quite normal for Amsterdam houses, so it’s not a big issue.

Liked: The room was very clean and cosy.
Disliked: Although we booked with breakfast, and this was even again written in the message we received shortly before the stay, no breakfast was served. The shower spread water unavoidably everywhere in the bathroom, so the whole floor got wet.
