No better place to stay...
Liked: Both me and my girlfriend have design backgrounds and the overall design, along with all the nuances were impeccable. It's amazing how private we felt in a place with historic infrastructure, hardwood floors, and limited fabrics to reduce noise. It felt like we had the whole building to ourselves, and I know for a fact that the place was booked up.
Disliked: NOTHING, IT WAS AMAZING THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE UPSET ABOUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH WE HAD SOME MUCH FUN AND SLEPT REALLY WELL, IT WAS SO GREAT THANK YOU AGAIN FOR UPGRADING OUR ROOM E AND LETTING US CHECKING OUT LATE

Thoughtful hotel, relaxing stay
Liked: What a beautiful, thoughtful hotel! It was a pleasure to walk the grounds as well as the surrounding neighborhood. Staff was very friendly and safety measures observed throughout my stay. I appreciated all the nice touches in the hotel room--from a copy of The Southern Review to the beautifully-scented bath products.
The hotel is very close to the top tourist spots in New Orleans, from Frenchmen St. to the French Quarter. It's nearby restaurants, bars, and other attractions as well. While the City looks and feels a bit different now during COVID, there is still plenty to explore, especially outdoors and away from potential crowds. Highly recommend City Park (15-17 minute drive from the hotel) and Jean Lafitte National Historical Park & Preserve (30 minute drive from the hotel).
Disliked: Everything was great! I would agree with some of the other comments re: having a mini fridge in the room. This would be helpful especially I'm sure during the summer months when having cold water is key! Ditto adding a coffee/tea maker would be nice.

I enjoyed the hotel and...
Liked: I didn't have breakfast and liked the location and the ambiance but the rooms I was placed in were both exceptionally small. The one room was only a double bed and even with that there was very little space in the room to move!
The rainforest shower head doesn't allow much flexibility for a woman showering......the head is so high that it is difficult to prevent getting your hair wet.
I design hotels and think the hotel is very pretty ..........but some limitations set by the layouts!
Thanks
Sandy Walter
Disliked: Size of rooms.........showerhead............

Wonderful hotel but we were...
Liked: Property was gorgeous and very clean. Nice area and easily accessible to different areas. Short staffed but the one who was there were very nice. We would definitely recommend but make sure you are given the correct room. We booked a room with a terrace on the ground floor and somehow got the smaller less expensive room on the 2nd floor with no view and we were still charged for the bigger room. Overall our experience despite the room was great.

Exceptional
Liked: Lovely, historic property ... very comfortable with great location and staff. have stayed here before and even with COVID they did a great job! Highly recommend. each floor is different and all th decorating is locally done. Ask for a tour!
Disliked: We were assigned to the top level rooms on our last stay which are lovely two-story (loft) rooms. The beds are in the loft. Unfortunately we are in our 70's and stairs to/from the bedroom in a strange place in the middle of the night are dangerous. I suggest you double check and make sure to get a single story room. Also the tiles in the bathrooms are beautiful and the showers are huge. Very nice. But grab bar would have been appreciated and safer. Also, due to COVID no coffee available without leaving the property and the neighborhood. an in-room coffee pot would be nice. Not complaining .... just suggestions. We love the place!
