The staff here were incredibly helpful when I needed it. They went above and beyond by personally escorting me outside to my Uber when I had difficulty finding it, finding me a place to eat late at night, and excellent service at the bar after attending a concert. The rooms was beautiful with a fantastic street view. Everything was incredibly clean and felt very comfortable and homey. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again as a first choice when I return to Quebec City.

Wonderful Hotel, with Amazing pool...

Liked: This hotel was a piece of Gem! Excellent old downtown location, only steps from the historic Quebec Parliament. Smooth Check in and check out with lots of friendly staff who exceed expectations to offer more and more info (verbally and from their computer screen, searching online for you, even if you dont ask loudly, they just know you would appreciate). And that is yet beside the other gentleman "concierge" who was super helpful and friendly. The room / bed / whashrrom all super clean and comfortable. But perhaps one of the best features of htis 4-star hotel that maybe stood better than some 5-star ones, was the wondeful swimming pool atmospher. The pool is placed in centre of hotel with natural light from high glass ceiling , with many rooms having a balcony to sit and watch the beautiful pool and the hot jaccuzi, a gigantic wall screen showing under-sea 3D images making you feel even greater!. 50 person capacity pool and 8 people hot jaccuzi, with a sitting staff providing fresh towels, so you dont need to bring the room's towels. I would rate this Hotel 12 instead of 10 if I could! Will diffenitely book again if going Quebec City or will find the sister hotels of the chain in other cities / countries!
Disliked: Perhaaps different rooms have different decoration, but in ours, the flat screen screen TV was on the wall to the right side of the queen bed..... I would recomend the management re-design all rooms to either place the TV on the wall in front of the bed, or change the place of the beds, so that guests who stay more nights / time in the room, can enjoy watching the TV comfortably.

Hotel Royal Palace

Liked: The hotel was located right near Porte Saint-Jean, which made it very convenient to explore the beautiful Old Quebec City. The kids really enjoyed the pool, and I loved the gym. The room was spacious enough for our family, which we really appreciated, and having a microwave in the room was very convenient. Addtionally if you choose a city view roon, you can enjoy stunning view of old Quebec city from the comfort of your room.
Disliked: However, when we checked in, the staff member at the front desk spoke in an unfriendly tone, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Also, there was a strong smell of pool on the first floor of the hotel. We got used to it quickly, but if you're expecting the pleasant scent that most hotel lobbies have, this might be disappointing. We were a family of five and had booked a family room, but there weren’t enough towels prepared for us, so we had to ask for more. (To be fair, they brought them promptly and kindly once we asked, which we appreciated — but it would have been nicer if everything had been ready in advance.)
