A truly disappointing stay!

Liked: **Extremely Disappointing Stay!I booked Hotel Örgryte solely to celebrate my son's 14th birthday. In the booking notes and through two phone calls prior to arrival, I clearly requested a small birthday surprise in the room for him — something as simple as a small chocolate, piece of cake, or even a nice decoration. We’ve been celebrating his birthday in hotels every year for 13 years, and each time the hotels went the extra mile to make the day memorable. This hotel completely failed and ruined the occasion.When I first called, a kind lady promised they would do something and asked me to call again on the day of check-in. I did exactly that, only to be met with a rude and dismissive man who bluntly said they would do nothing. No effort, no care, no hospitality. My son was so disappointed, and it broke my heart that this supposed “special stay” became the worst experience we’ve ever had.The room was disgusting. There were pubic hairs on the bed, hair in the sink, and an awful animal-like smell throughout. The bed wasn’t made properly, and the whole place felt like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. We also booked half board, and I was told over the phone that Thai food would be served for dinner. What a joke. When we went for dinner, we were told there was only one dish available as part of the dinner package — nothing else was included. If we wanted anything else, we had to pay extra, and the prices were ridiculously high for what was offered. There was no dessert, no variety, and nothing. We had to leave and find food elsewhere because the hotel’s dinner “offering” was a complete scam.I am extremely disappointed. This hotel ruined what was supposed to be a joyful and memorable birthday celebration for my son. They showed zero empathy, zero cleanliness, and and zero value for money. The ONLY good thing was the gentleman who was at the reception when we checked in was very nice and friendly.I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. So dissapointed.

Disliked: I booked the hotel because of parking but when I arrived there, the said that the hotel dose not have parking

Doesn't deserve any star. Disgusting...

Disliked: Filthiest hotel i have ever been. At first they give us a room, used/uncleaned room! So, we went back to the reception and asked for new room. They give us our 2nd room 1 floor below the 1st room we got. When we got off the elevetor, there we're already used/wet towels laying the hallway. So we continued walking towards the 2nd given room. The hallways outside the rooms of the whole floor were full of scattered dirty/used laundries(towels,beddings), dusty mops. They don't even know how to handle their dirty laundries properly, it was not even put inside a laundry bags, just laying around openly infront off all the guests to see scattered on the floor. Chairs have a lot of stains, hanging/broken closet doors, beds and towels are disgusting. So, we went back to the reception again, the receptionist asked us to wait 30mins. because their system broke down and the boss will come to help. We were not the only guest complaining for dirty/used rooms and waiting. Then the boss came, he was arguing with some other guest when i came back to the reception. I asked if we could get another room. He asked if we could wait for 1 hour because the new room was not ready. I said ok, we will wait. After an hour of waiting i went back again to ask for the room, then they say it was not ready and if we could wait additional 30minutes(it was already 17:30, we checked in 15:00). We're tired and hungry from a long trip. So i said we couldn't wait more, we have waited long already and i asked for refund. It is ok to have old facilitied but not filthy. We have our car parked inside their Parking Garage, with daily rate/fee. Before we went and park our car, the receptionist told us to scan our atm card on the scanner outside to pay. So we scan our card then garage door opened and we parked. When we went out and drove, we just then saw a Yellow tag hanging on the cars windshield, it was a 600kr parking ticket.

Budget accommodation with descent breakfast....

Liked: Price/Budget accommodation. Breakfast is descent.
Disliked: Dinner.incl was super simple ( Note: Its not buffet).Beds not very comfortable, Mini Fridge was too noisy. The staff response nothing notably positive to mention (I was a bit disappointed).

The time capsule

Liked: Thai food and sushi
Disliked: It was like stepping into a time capsule with facilities and furniture from the early sixties that have never been changed

Passable

Liked: Clogged sewer in bathroom. Bad smell. Dirty window. No glass in the room to drink water!

Fair priced Hotel.

Liked: Great value for money….Was just about adequate for my needs.Location perfect for me, but not central for Göteborg if that’s where you need to be.Had read horror reviews, but didn’t experience anything bad.Roms basic and dated, but wasn’t in there for the decor, just to sleep .
