Not worth the price
Disliked: It just felt...lacking. The TV didn't work. There were no lamps on the bedside tables. The lobby was being renovated so there was only one working elevator. I was on the 5th floor and ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Despite this, there were catered parties on the top floor leading to even LONGER wait times to accommodate the extra people and staff going back and forth.Hotel management slipped a strongly worded letter under my door stating "multiple guests" had complained about the smell of smoke coming from my room. Despite the fact that I'd been out all day and have never smoked in my life. There was one trashcan for the entire room, including the bathroom. So if you were in the bathroom and wanted to throw something away (say, a q-tip) you had to leave the bathroom to go throw it away in the other room. Or just start a little pile on the counter and throw it away later. A small inconvenience, but odd. Also the trashcan doesn't have a liner in it, which seems kind of unsanitary. There's no Kleenex offered anywhere in the room. So if you want to blow your nose or wipe up a spill, you have to use toilet paper. If someone happens to be in the bathroom at that time, you're out of luck. The only mirror is in the bathroom so, again, if someone happens to be in the bathroom and you need a mirror, too bad. The decor (if you care about that kind of thing) was non-existent or just plain bizarre. There were no vases or sculptures or anything decorative in the room. Just empty shelves carved into the wall with little built-in spotlights --but nothing in them. The only thing on the wall was an old 80s headshot of a random woman. In the outside hallway, there was an 80s-era headshot of a young man cuddling a dog. Maybe it's part of a broader decorative theme, the significance of which escapes me. In short, the location is great and the staff is nice but I've had better accommodations at the Holiday Inn.
